SeniorLIFE Johnstown Named Best Places to Work 2008

(Johnstown, Pennsylvania) For the second consecutive year, SeniorLIFE Johnstown has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2008. SeniorLIFE Johnstown offers an alternative to nursing home placement, providing its members with a comprehensive care plan that allows them to live at home longer and happier.

The Best Places to Work in PA (www.bestplacestoworkinpa.com) award is sponsored by a public/private partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation and Economic Development and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. Companies complete a questionnaire as part of the assessment process and employees are also required to complete a survey.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in PA list is made up of 100 companies split into two groups: 50 medium-sized companies (25-250 employees) and 50 large-sized companies (251 or more employees). SeniorLIFE has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA in the medium category.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. Nearly 45,000 Pennsylvania employees filled out the survey. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process.

SeniorLIFE will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in PA evening awards ceremony on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. The final rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.

SeniorLIFE Johnstown’s support services allow family caregivers to maintain their personal and professional commitments while securing safe, friendly care for loved ones. Services may be provided at SeniorLIFE’s LIFE Center, located in downtown Johnstown, or delivered in the member’s own home, based on individual needs.

SeniorLIFE is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and has been granted provider status by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Although there are 45 programs in the country, it is the only program of its kind in the Johnstown area.
